Life Skills Strategy

To empower youth to live successful lives it is essential to equip them with the concepts and lasting abilities that are the foundations for success.  These positive concepts and lasting abilities are defined as Life Skills.  We believe that life skills are essential to healthy development of youth.  Through our life skills initiative we will invest time and resources to facilitate professional workshops targeting “At-Risk Adolescents”.

The Amateur Advocate Association conducts life skills workshops in each of our community associations. Teens will hear from various qualified persons about topics that we believe to be critical to positive teen development.

Community Association Development

The Amateur Advocate Association opens the door for parents and citizen volunteers to get involved with improving the quality of life in their communities. As a central point of contact in the community we will welcome and inform new residents of the vast programs and advantages that are available to them.  Our organization will also open the door for visionary dialog with local and regional officials.  The possible resources, networking and access empowerment given to the parents and passionate volunteers to change their community and environment are endless.  This is the Amateur Advocate Associations core advantage that will change attitudes and brighten the outlook in many underdeveloped communities across America.

Our Structured Recreational Strategy

Many communities do not have a structured recreation system that serves the total youth potential.  Football, baseball and basketball are not for every child.  Other recreational activities such as tennis, golf, art and music may be a better fit for some children.  The Amateur Advocate Association will invest our time and resources to expose more children to their hidden talents.  We will seek-out and collaborate with existing programs and qualified instructors in each community and surrounding areas.  Once a relationship is established, we will invest our resources and services to strengthen and extend their programs to the communities that are not as fortunate to have the recreational service and offer it at reasonable cost.  The experience from our unique recreational activity may open up undiscovered talent and creative experience for our youngparticipants.  We will insure through our development and evaluation that all programs have sound budgets, certified instructors, proper facilitation and safe equipment before issuing organizational approval.

Why are our programs needed?

The Amateur Advocate Association has noticed a desperate cry for direction and sustained development in less fortunate communities in America.  We have experienced numerous communities with extraordinary talent potential in fine arts, sports and educational achievement.  However, these communities have no structural guide to address non traditional circumstances that obstruct the success of adequate youth development.  In fact many communities are experiencing local school systems downsizing of school recreation and art programs. We feel these missing programs are vital to the development of communities and our youth.

Within the four program areas implemented by the Amateur Advocate Association, the mending of community talents and services are strengthened. Our “Life Skill Workshops” build youth character and vision. Our “Structured Recreation” approach and principles will broaden activity horizons in communities. Our “Volunteer & Parental Association” program unites the community in an effort to collaborate with local officials, manage their youth development programs and create a renewed spirit and pride in their prospective community.  Lastly the “Amateur Advocate initiative, development, and resources assistance” program collectively develops community volunteer boards, seeks and approves professionals to participate in life skill training, and solicits funding from national and local organizations to support our community programs.
